Whitney Wolfe Ensuring Bumble Doesn’t Bow Down To Corporate Bullying
There are many dating apps in the market, but one of the most recent ones is Bumble, which has been able to gain considerable popularity in just a couple of years. Start in 2014 by Whitney Wolfe; Bumble has made it to the top five most popular dating app on the market today.
Whitney Wolfe has had considerable experience in the dating business and is the co-founder of Tinder as well. But, due to some personal conflicts with other co-founders, Whitney Wolfe left Tinder and along with the founder of Badoo, started Bumble. The reason why Bumble is different from other dating app is that at Bumble, only female members can start a conversation. In fact, at Bumble, women are encouraged to make the first move.
Whitney Wolfe says that by allowing only women to start the conversation, it has become easier to keep the conversation clean and promote a kind and ethical culture at Bumble. It is because, in many other dating apps, it has been seen that some of the men take advantage of the freedom they have to message women to send unsolicited, rude, and obnoxious messages. Whitney Wolfe has used several dating apps in the past and knows what women have to face on the dating apps on a regular basis. With Bumble, Whitney Wolfe wants to make dating for women safer and kinder.

Whitney Wolfe, however, didn’t budge and answered to the legal threat Match through an ad that the company posted on newspaper. It was an ad cum open letter that said that Bumble would not bow down to the threats made by Match. Whitney Wolfe is also the co-founder of Tinder, which is one of the subsidiaries of Match. As a co-founder of Tinder, Whitney Wolfe helped the company with promotion and marketing in initial stages, which helped tremendously in taking Tinder to where it is today.
Whitney Wolfe knows the power of Bumble social dating platform that she has created, and it is, for this reason, she added Bumble Bizz and Bumble BFF to it. The Bumble Bizz is a professional networking feature that helps people find other people in same profession or interests with ease. Similarly, Bumble BFF is a platform where people can meet new people and make friends. In both these sub-platforms, the principle of only women starting the conversation first remains the same.
