Heather Russell as The New Chief Legal Officer of TransUnion
Heather Russell is the Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of TransUnion. She graduated with JD honors from the American University, Washington College of Law. She has been at TransUnion since May 2018.
She previously worked as a partner at Buckley Sandler LLP from October 2016 to May 2018. Buckley Sandler is a leading firm in Technology practices, supervision, and Financial Institution Regulation. Before this, she was the Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Legal Officer at Fifth Third Bank for one year.
Russell has more than 20 years of experience as a legal executive. She has acquired this experience from her global experience in financial services including Fintech, regulatory compliance, data security and privacy, consumer financial services, acquisitions, and mergers.
At TransUnion, Russell will be responsible for the government relations, legal, corporate governance, consumer privacy, and compliance. She will serve on the TransUnion’s Executive Committee and report to the CEO and President Jim Peck.
Heather Russell joins TransUnion from Buckley Sandler, LLP. At the institution, she was the leader of Fintech practices, supervision, and financial regulations. Russell has also worked at the Bank of America as the Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Bank.
She graduated with a BA from the College of William and Mary. Russell spends almost eight years at Skadden, Arps in Washington dealing with corporate finance, acquisitions and mergers and financial services. At TransUnion, she will replace John Blenke, who is set to retire this year.
